Soma Breath is a guided breathwork experience designed to reconnect you with the wisdom of your own body — the soma. Through rhythmic breathing, sound, and mindful intention, you’ll enter deep states of relaxation and awareness where the mind quiets, tension dissolves, and clarity returns.
Each session is a journey inward: a safe space to release emotional weight, balance the nervous system, and awaken a sense of calm strength. Whether you join live or online, every breath becomes a bridge between Mind, Body, and Spirit — a rhythm that restores your natural balance and inner peace.
No prior experience is needed — just your breath, an open heart, and the willingness to let go.

Soma Breath was founded by Chris Richardson, a 100% Disabled Veteran who served for over seven years on active deployments. After years of service and the challenges of reintegration, Christopher turned to breathwork, meditation, and martial arts as tools for recovery, focus, and transformation.

With a lifelong practice in martial arts and meditation, Chris discovered the power of breath as a key to resilience — a way to process trauma, restore balance, and cultivate inner peace.
In 2025, he began his journey into 9D Breathwork, expanding his mission to help others in the Greater Charleston, WV area experience the same profound healing and clarity that conscious breathing can bring.
Chris’s vision is to integrate modern frequency-based wellness technologies, therapeutic breathwork, and life coaching to create a holistic path toward well-being for veterans, first responders, and anyone ready to take ownership of their inner transformation.

Our philosophy blends ancient wisdom with modern science — combining breath, sound, and meditation to activate the body’s natural intelligence. Whether you’re seeking balance, emotional release, or deep relaxation, Soma Breath provides a safe, transformative space for healing and self-discovery.
We see the breath as a bridge: between mind and body, between trauma and peace, and between the person you are and the person you’re becoming.
Each Soma Breath session begins with a short guided introduction to help you connect with your breath, understand the technique, and prepare your body and mind for the experience.
Session times vary slightly depending on the flow of the group — your breath sets the pace.
All participants must complete the Client Intake & Consent Form before attending any session. This form includes important disclaimers, health considerations, and a space to share your personal goals or areas of focus so the journey can best support your needs.
We offer two types of Soma Breath journeys, each designed to support a different energetic state — whether you’re seeking activation and focus or calm and restoration.

Up-Regulation sessions use dynamic, rhythmic breathing to activate the body’s sympathetic system — helping you channel energy, sharpen focus, and release built-up tension.
Expect a grounded yet energizing flow supported by rhythmic sound and guided breath patterns designed to awaken the mind-body connection.
You’ll leave feeling both powerful and centered — alert, alive, and in tune with your inner rhythm.
Calm your system • Soften the heart • Restore inner stillness
Down-Regulation sessions invite you into deep relaxation through slow, mindful breathing that activates the parasympathetic nervous system — your body’s natural rest and repair mode.
This gentle journey helps release stress, quiet the mind, and restore emotional balance.
Ideal for grounding after demanding days, easing anxiety, or reconnecting with a sense of peace and safety within your body.
Please bring a yoga mat, blanket, pillow, and optional eye cover for your comfort — most of the session will be experienced lying down.
Wear comfortable clothing, hydrate before class, and arrive with an open mind and steady heart.
Experience the power of conscious breath in a guided, restorative journey for the mind and body.
Live sessions are first-come, first-serve — limited to 10 participants in person and 25 online to preserve an intimate group energy.
Please bring anything that helps you relax and stay comfortable — a yoga mat, blanket, pillow, and eye cover are recommended, as most of the session is spent lying down.
